Basic Skills Development

South Hennepin Adult Programs in Education

(SHAPE)

Supporting the efforts of all adults who wish to improve their lives through literacy, language, career development and lifelong learning”

SHAPE assists adult learners with specific goals of learning to read better, learning math skills, and improving writing abilities. Some learners need to brush up their skills before taking a trade test or school entrance exam; others are learning new information for the first time. The basic skills program allows learners to work at their own pace in a supportive environment.  Learners come to the basic skills classroom according to their own life schedules. The classrooms at the Community Education Campus are open as follows:

  • CEC Daytime:   Monday through Thursday,  9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

  • CEC Evening:    Monday and Wednesday, 4:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

Want to enroll?  Prospective students must attend a new student registration session.  Click here for more information about registration sessions.
