James and the Giant Peach
by Roald Dahl
Scale Drawings: Research to find out what the animal characters
in the story actually look like and what their real size should
be. Using graph paper, draw models of these animals to scale
(grasshopper, centipede, glow-worm, spider. ladybug, silkworm,
and earthworm.) Decide and write down the scale you will use,
e.g. five centimeters drawing size equals one centimeter actual
size.

Illustrations: Select scenes from the story that you would like
to recreate. Find and copy passages from the text that describe
that scene. Then, use your own imagination and create a scene
to go with the text. Use paint , chalk, crayons or combinations
of these to create the effect that would best illustrate your
chosen scene.
