Feel like experiencing a 'senior moment?' Here it is . . . a quick glance back at some video segments from this past 2009-10 school year at Kennedy High School. Watch the class picture-taking session, some Kennedy events like "Kennedy's Got Talent" show, the student vs staff basketball game (won by the seniors . . .), the Mayhem Poets, some dancing and some cheerleading. It's not everything, but it's a sneak peek back at a fun year.
Kennedy website changing, evolving . . .
Bloomington Kennedy's website, as well as all other Bloomington school websites, will undergo significant changes and revisions over the summer. Web readers will notice a new look and feel to the Kennedy website as the current website contents will soon be transferred and transformed into a new-look website. This will all be done using a web authoring program called SchoolFusion. This new SchoolFusion program was chosen because its features will allow students and parents to find pertinent information faster, and will enable teachers to more easily create a multi-faceted website that satisfies parents' expectations to more efficiently find the information they need. Bloomington Kennedy's current webmaster is Keith Johnson, Media & Technology Director at JFK.
Kennedy student fashion design opens eyes
Tony Eliason, a Kennedy senior, has submitted a prom dress fashion of his own creative design into a national contest sponsored by JoAnne Fabrics. The Grand Prize winner of this fashion contest will win a fifty thousand dollar scholarship. There are ten other contest awards as well. Tony was mentored in his design and fashion creation by Kennedy FACS teacher, Boni Caine. The concept, design, and ultimate creation of this dress was all completed during the spring quarter of school. Click these links to view the front and back of Tony's creative design.

Wrestlin' Ness boys throwin' out first pitch at Aug. Twins' game
Jayson and Dylan Ness will be honored and throwing out the first pitch at the Twins game on Aug. 18. If you're not sure who Jayson and Dylan Ness are, you haven't been paying attention. Read more about them here. Jayson was a National Champion wrestler for the U of M Gophers this past year, while younger brother Dylan (a Kennedy senior) was a state champion wrestler and was honored as Mr. Minnesota Wrestler this past year. Rumor has it that Jayson will rip off a little 93 mph 'chin music' fastball, while the younger Dylan will flutter a dancin' and dartin' 78 mph knuckleball. Hopefully none of the Ness boys' nasty stuff will injure Joe Mauer.

These Decile Rankings provide students a glimpse of where they rank (i.e. top 10%, top 20%) in their class, based on their GPAs (grade point averages). This Decile Ranking replaces the straight class ranking as of the 2009-10 year. This decile ranking provides a snapshot approximation using a cumulative GPA deciles report. Read more about this change to decile rankings in this Q & A document.
