Elements Math Program

Elements uses the Everyday Math curriculum series. Students work at an accelerated pace, which involves deeper enrichment and extensions for greater understanding of mathematical concepts.

Additional resources are utilized to further enhance the students' conceptual understandings. These resources may include but are not limited to: 

Mentoring Mathematical Minds
A national curriculum and research study to nurture math talent in elementary students. Many of these units have received Curriculum Studies Awards from the National Association for Gifted Children.

Dana Johnson math series
Dana T. Johnson is an instructor in the Mathematics Department and the School of Education at The College of William and Mary, where she also has worked on many projects with the college’s Center for Gifted Education since its inception in 1988. 

Ed Zaccaro math series
Ed holds an Iowa teaching certificate with K–12 endorsement in gifted education and a master’s degree in gifted education from the University of Northern Iowa. His math books are fantasitc resources to use with gifted student populations.

National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) Navigations series
This series translates the five strands of NCTM's Principles and Standards for School Mathematics into action and illustrates the growth and connectedness of content areas.
