Three Steps to Enroll
There are three easy steps to complete to enroll your child in preschool and early childhood family education (ECFE) programming.
Step 1: Sign Up for Classes
Learn about our ECFE classes and preschool programs and find the best class for your child. For preschool, use the Choose Your Own Adventure Tool to help you find the best fit.
When ready, click the button below to sign up for ECFE or preschool classes. Here’s how to search for the right program on the sign-up site:
- Click “Explore All Programs”
- Choose ECFE or Preschool
- Click “Learn More” to go to the program page
- For Preschool, click “Enroll Now”
- For ECFE, browse through the available classes, click on any class title to learn more, then click “Enroll Now”
Note: This step must be repeated for each new preschool and ECFE class you sign up for.
Step 2: Register with the District
Fill out the district’s online enrollment system to register with the district. This is a one-time step that must be completed before your child can attend early learning programs. An additional benefit of this step is that it helps set up enrollment into your neighborhood school when your child becomes eligible for kindergarten.
Step 3: Early Childhood Screening
Early Childhood Screening is required for preschool and can be completed anytime after a child’s third birthday. Preschool can begin for a child as long as their early childhood screening is scheduled. Per Minnesota Department of Education, you child's screening must be completed within the first 90 days of enrollment if not before. Screening is not required for ECFE classes.
