Bloomington Jefferson football coach receives Butch Nash award

Bloomington Jefferson High School assistant football coach Aaron Swartout has earned the 2024 Butch Nash award. Presented by the Minnesota Football Coaches Association, the honor recognizes the top assistant football coaches in the state.
“Aaron is an outstanding role model. His dedication to the team shows up in all areas, putting in as much time off the practice field each week as he does on it,” said head football coach Marc Bachman.
“Aaron’s offensive linemen have the best bond on the team. He has the ability to get them to rally around one another and execute their assignments at a high rate. Last fall he developed a group of linebackers who had never played offensive line into a very effective O-line,” said Bachman of his coaching accomplishments.
Swartout, a 1994 Jefferson graduate, is the first Bloomington coach to earn the award since 1992. He teaches physical education and health at Valley View Middle School.
