Jefferson Theatre Company’s competitive one act play, The Ithaca Ladies Read Medea, won the Metro West Conference championship on Jan. 17, took first place in the Section 3AA competition on Jan. 21, and finished third in Finals on Jan. 28.

Competitive One Act is an MSHSL activity featuring 35-minute plays with a limited cast and crew of up to 20 students. Plays are evaluated on acting, technical elements, educational value, teamwork and overall performance.

The Ithaca Ladies Read Medea, set in 1953, is about four university wives who meet for their monthly play reading group, knowing one of them betrayed the others during interrogations by the House Unamerican Activities Commission.
