Kennedy senior earns second trip to national debate tournament

Kennedy High School senior Addison Wendt placed first at the Southern MN National Speech and Debate qualifying tournament, and will represent Kennedy at nationals for the second consecutive year this summer.

Competing in the Senate Congressional Debate, Wendt outperformed more than a dozen students from schools across the region.

Jefferson junior Charles Lindstrom advanced to the semifinals in the House Congressional Debate.

The National Speech and Debate Association (NDSA) National Tournament is June 15-20, 2025 in Des Moines, IA. NSDA is the largest interscholastic speech and debate organization serving middle and high school students. The National Tournament draws 6,700 students from more than 1,500 schools across the country.
