Akram Osman named new Kennedy High School principal

Akram M. Osman will become the new principal of Kennedy High School on July 1, 2020. Osman most recently served as associate principal at Eden Prairie High School. 

He was previously an associate principal at Metcalf Middle School and dean of students at Burnsville High School in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District. Prior to that, Osman was a cultural liaison and special education teacher in the Mankato Area Public Schools, and served as the head girls’ soccer coach at Mankato East High School.

Osman will replace Carol Kampa, who will become principal at Irondale High School at the end of the current school year after 16 years in various leadership positions at Kennedy, including the last three years as principal.

Osman holds undergraduate and graduate degrees from Minnesota State University, Mankato, in exercise science and special education respectively. Osman also obtained his principal’s license from MSU-Mankato, and earned a certificate for culturally proficient educational practices from the Center of Culturally Proficient Practice
