Bloomington Public Schools kicking off gifted & talented speaker series

Bloomington Public Schools’ gifted and talented department is hosting a speaker series to assist families and educators support and teach gifted students. The events are free and open to the public to attend.

Event Dates:

  • CANCELLED - Feb. 18: Dr. Matthew Zakreski
    • Cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances. No plans to reschedule.
  • March 18: Dr. Teresa Boatman presenting, "Understanding Your Gifted Learner"
    • 6:30-8 p.m. at Oak Grove Middle School
  • April 10: Christine Fonseca presenting on social-emotional development of gifted learners.
    • Virtual event with more details to follow.

The speaker series is funded by a U.S. Department of Education grant aimed at increasing equity and access to gifted and talented programs. 

BPS is celebrating 20 years of its nationally recognized gifted and talented programs, which have grown to six unique programs offering 45 gifted classes for students in grades 2-12.
