Bloomington speech team presents annual showcase

The award-winning Bloomington Speech Team will present their 18th annual Speech Showcase on Thursday, March 13 at 7 p.m. in the Oak Grove Middle School auditorium, 1300 W 106th St.
The showcase is a final celebration of the competitive speech season. All speech team members from Kennedy and Jefferson high schools will perform excerpts of their competition pieces from this year, with the following students performing their entire selections:
- Samia Mohamud, extemporaneous speaking
- Angelica Mey, humor: "Throwback" by Maureen Goo
- Briar Bickel, creative: “The Ghastly Beauty of Love”
- Freya Nafziger, informative: “The Puzzling Gender Health Care Gap”
- Addison Wendt, extemporaneous speaking
- Kerris Vaupel, drama: “I Got Sick Then I Got Better” by Jenny Allen
- Gabriel Knutson, humor: “Triune Tale of Diminutive Swine” by John Branyan
Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults and can be purchased at the door. BPS staff receive one free ticket with their staff ID.
