Bloomington speech team presents annual showcase

The award-winning Bloomington Speech Team will present their 19th annual Speech Showcase on Thursday, March 5 at 7 p.m. in the Oak Grove Middle School auditorium, 1300 W 106th St.
The showcase is a final celebration of the competitive speech season. All speech team members from Kennedy and Jefferson high schools will perform excerpts of their competition pieces from this year, with the following students performing their entire selections:
- Freya Nagziger, Informative: "Through the Forest of Narrative"
- Serrah Ssemukutu, Oratory: "Mirror, Mirror."
- Briar Bickel, Poetry: “History on Repeat" by Benjamin Thornwood
- Sunny Baldwin, Drama: "Hannah's Gift" by Maria Housden
- Samia Mohamud: Extemporaneous Speaking
- Kerris Vaupel, Prose: "The Book Thief" by Markus Zusak
- Angelica Mey, Humor: "The Wong Kids in the Secret of the Space Chupacabra, Go!" by Lloyd Suh
Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults and can be purchased at the door. BPS staff receive one free ticket with their staff ID.
