Bloomington talent takes home awards at State Fair

BPS students earned a combined 11 awards in the Minnesota State Fair K-12 Competition. Student artwork and exhibits were on display in the Education Building during the Great Minnesota Get-Together.
Award winners:
- Haruko Westcott, 3rd Grade, Oak Grove Elementary received a first place award in collages and 2D paper projects, second place for painting (tempera), and third place awards for painting (mixed media) and jewelry.
- Sumiko Westcott, 5th grade, Oak Grove Elementary earned a second place for charcoal drawing, third place for watercolor painting, and fourth place awards for chalk drawing and tempera painting.
- Andi Knoblauch, 8th grade, Valley View Middle, earned a fourth in needlework.
- Jaired Munar, 10th grade, Jefferson High School, earned a second for poems or poem collections.
- Zach Pikus, 10th grade, Jefferson High School, a first in FRC robotics electrical (group project)
