Jefferson, Kennedy high schools name Triple ‘A’ nominees

Seniors Megan Schrooten and Brenden Lucas (Jefferson) and Emma Skibbie and Roosevelt Osano (Kennedy) are this year’s Academics, Arts and Athletics Award (Triple ‘A’) nominees. 

Each year, high school seniors are selected for their participation in Minnesota State High School League (MSHSL) sponsored arts and athletics while maintaining high academic standing. Finalists will be honored at the Triple ‘A’ on-court ceremony held in conjunction with the boys’ State Basketball Tournament in March and are eligible to receive a $1,000 scholarship.

Schrooten participates in band (all conference), soccer, cross country (all conference, state participant), nordic ski (all conference), track and field (all conference), mountain biking and visual arts while maintaining a 4.09 GPA.

Lucas participates in choir (all conference), swim and dive (all conference, state participant), and baseball while maintaining a 3.99 GPA.

Skibbie participates in softball (all conference and team captain) and choir (all conference) while maintaining a 4.112 GPA.

Osano participates in band (all conference and all state), cross country (all conference), basketball and track and field while maintaining a 4.312 GPA.
