Kennedy show choir earns invite to national competition

Kennedy High School’s show choir Rhythm in Gold earned an invitation to the prestigious FAME Show Choir National Finals next month following a best in show performance at the Waconia Star Power competition on Feb. 18. 

Competing against some of the top show choirs in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest, the group earned Grand Champion honors with performances inspired by Moulin Rouge. Rhythm in Gold also earned awards for Best Vocals, Best Choreography and People’s Choice. Kennedy senior Sophia Hanson and freshman Saturn Jordan received Best Soloist awards.

Rhythm in Gold will compete at the 2023 Show Choir National Finals in the Encore Theatre in Branson, MO on April 1.   

Rhythm in Gold has earned three top finishes in four major competitions, and will host a final public show at Kennedy High School on March 17-18. Tickets and other information at kennedychoirs.org

The group consists of 65 students, including band and crew, and is led by Nikki Jordan, director; Matt Dymoke and Josh Fremder, assistant directors; and John Engebretson, band director.
