Kennedy soccer coaches named Section 3AA Coach of the Year

Kennedy girls soccer head coach Mario Lone and boys soccer head coach Dan Bushendorf were named Section 3AA Coach of the Year. Assistant coach Brent Fairman was named Section 3AA Assistant Coach of the Year on behalf of the Kennedy boys' team. 

This is Lone’s 11th year coaching Kennedy girls' soccer, finishing the season with ten wins, four losses and a tie in the regular and postseason. He is a former Minnesota Olympic Development Program (ODP) coach and played soccer professionally for six years. 

Bushendorf has coached for more than 20 years at the club and high school levels, including 13 years coaching Kennedy boys’ soccer. He led the Kennedy boys’ soccer program this year, with 12 wins, four losses and a tie in the regular and postseason. 

Fairman joined the Kennedy coaching staff in 2010, after coaching in Rochester during college. He is a Jefferson alum, who played soccer all four years as a goalkeeper and outside midfielder.
