Kennedy High School senior Dulce “Camila” Pineda Ruiz won second place in the Third Congressional District Art Show for her marker drawing titled, “My Bedroom.”

The drawing mimics a photo taken through a fish-eye lens, showcasing posters on the wall, stuffed animals on a bed, and stacks of books on a shelf, among other visual elements.

Other Kennedy participants in the Congressional art show include Bennie Tornoe, Jeraldine Abarca, Brandon Vang, Ashley Hallet, Gisselle Alamilla Dominguez, Miranda Ruiz and Solomon Taylor.

Congressional districts annually host an art competition for students. First place winners earn a trip to Washington, D.C. to hang their work at the U.S. Capitol for one year.
