New Code Academy paraprofessional Don Cannon received the Unsung Super Star award from the Digital Learning Collaborative (DLC). The award recognizes Cannon’s commitment to reimagining online education and dedication to students.

Cannon’s colleagues nominated him for his extraordinary ability to connect with students online with enthusiasm, personalized support, and regular “Dad Jokes with Don” interactions with students. New Code staff remarked how students have made progress under Cannon’s guidance and innovative practices. 

DLC is an organization that highlights key issues and best practices in digital learning. Members of the New Code Academy team recently presented a series of four elementary online sessions at DLC’s national conference in Atlanta, GA. Presenters included digital learning coordinator Holly Skadsem, Ed.S, and digital learning specialist Ray Cannon. 

New Code Academy is Bloomington Public Schools’ K-12 online school that’s available for K-12 students anywhere in Minnesota, providing a personalized education that meets the same rigorous standards as traditional classrooms.
