Reading and math tutor opportunities in Bloomington schools
Bloomington Public Schools is looking for literacy and math tutors to support elementary students during the 2024-25 school year. AmeriCorps has full- and part-time Minnesota Reading Corps and Minnesota Math Corps tutor positions in our schools.
Literacy tutors work one-on-one with students in kindergarten through third grade to improve their reading skills to help them be reading at or above their grade level by the end of the school year.
Math tutors work with groups of two or three students in kindergarten through third grade, providing extra practice and skill-building exercises to help them build foundational math skills and better understand math concepts.
Full-time tutors commit to 10 months of service beginning in August 2024. Tutors receive training in instruction methods, and earn a living allowance and up to $5,176 to pay for school or student loans.
Anyone interested in tutoring can apply on the AmeriCorps website.
