Meeting Highlights

• The School Board approved a 10-year agreement to lease the Pond school building to our partner Intermediate School District 917, which provides specialized programming to member districts. The Health Commons at Pond clinic will continue operating at this site.
• The School Board authorized increased wages for reserve teachers. Effective Sept. 1, the rate is $225 per day for the first 40 days, $230 per day beyond that, and $240 per day for BPS retirees. A $15 incentive continues for reserve teachers working Fridays.
• The School Board approved a minor increase in meal prices for adults, with breakfast increasing from $2.50 to $2.55 and lunch increasing from $5.05 to $5.30 this school year.
• The School Board approved a Minnesota School Board Association resolution advocating for modernizing Minnesota school safety statutes. This reinforces BPS’s commitment to the safety and security of its students, staff, families and community.
• The School Board approved its goals and the superintendent’s goals for the 2026-27 school year. Goals are categorized into the district’s five Strategic Plan goal areas. You can find the School Board goals and superintendent goals on the BPS website.
• The School Board approved a new three-year contract for superintendent Dr. Eric Melbye, effective July 1, 2027 through June 30, 2030.
