Meeting Highlights

• The School Board approved and ratified the 2025-2027 teacher contract between BPS and the Bloomington Federation of Teachers. The union ratified the tentative agreement on Oct. 28, 2025 prior to board approval. The agreement includes a salary increase of 2.3% for the 2025-26 school year and 2% for 2026-27. This is one of several contracts in progress with our employee bargaining units, and typically the first to be finalized. Settling salary agreements helps to move forward with the district budgeting process.
• The School Board canvassed the results of the Nov. 4 election. Tom Bennett, Matt Dymoke, Ted Moore and Dawn Steigauf were elected to four-year terms, beginning Jan. 5, 2026.
• The School Board approved a CHOICE Academy agreement with Imagine Learning by Edgenuity, which is an online instructional platform designed to help students recover credits and to help educators enhance student learning. The program includes interactive teaching tools, instruction, videos, animation, and simulation. The agreement is for the current 2025-26 school year.
