  • Kennedy High School offers 28 Advanced Placement, honors and enriched courses to students. A Gifted and Talented Coordinator and two Reading Specialists support the success of all students. A Gr. 9 “House” ensures first-year students a successful high school experience.
  • Rich intercultural experiences. We serve 39% students of color and welcome students from 33 countries. Bloomington’s ESL program, allows students to experience learning with students who speak 23 languages.
  • Extensive educational enrichment opportunities. Kennedy’s National Honor Society, Business Professionals of America, SkillsUSA and CLOSE-UP encourage students to connect to the community through strong character-building experiences.
  • Kennedy Eagles soar high in athletics. Sixteen state championships, 43 conference championships, and 86 state tournament appearances prove that the Eagles excel in and outside of the classroom.
  • Excellence in the Arts. Our Fine Arts programs repeatedly create winners in state and national competitions and have been displayed locally and nationally. Our Performing Arts groups, such as Rhythm in Gold Show Choir, repeatedly achieve state and national honors and students perform before local, national and international audiences.
  • Prestigious academic awards and preparation for elite colleges. Since 2007, Kennedy has had three National Merit Scholars and 11 Commended Scholars. Our students receive generous scholarship dollars and attend prestigious colleges and universities.
  • Technology is integrated into courses and the curriculum. Kennedy is a leader in Career and Technical Education and offers nationally accredited programs such as ProStart and Project Lead the Way. Authentic learning projects, such as a student built chopper/motorcycle, that was featured on local news stations and the Discovery Channel.
