Charitable Resources

Childrens Food for Thought

Childrens Food for Thought provides free school meals to students whose families can't always afford to pay even though their income is not low enough to qualify for federally funded free and reduced-price meals.

Who We Are

Children's Food for Thought is a nonprofit organization sponsored by the Education Foundation of Bloomington that raises tax-deductible contributions to assist financially struggling families.

How We Work

School staff discreetly identify students in need and request funds. Meal payments are handled so that no one in the lunch line knows the difference. In fact, often the parents don't even know.

  • $15 feeds lunch to a student for more than a week.
  • Last year, CFT fed more than 3,000 lunches in Bloomington Public Schools.
