Gary Kressin Career and College Academy Directorgkressin@isd271.org952-681-6133Gary Kressin joined Bloomington Public Schools in July 2014. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Technology Education from University of Wisconsin-Stout. He also holds a Master’s in Education and Educational Administration from the University of St. Mary’s. Kressin started his education career in the classroom, where he taught at both the middle and high school levels. Previous experience includes serving as a district math coordinator, STEM coordinator and a career center administrator. “We’re creating unique learning opportunities to help guide students on a pathway to career and education success.”
Katie's role is to support students who attend BCCA by helping them register for concurrent college credit, assisting in their academic progress and career planning, and providing enriching career and college opportunities such as guest speakers, industry field trips, college visits, etc. Katie is also part of the district's Personal Growth Plan (PGP) implementation team. Her goal is to help students connect their PGP activities with their BCCA involvement.
Prior to joining the BCCA team, Katie served as a Counselor in High and Middle School for 8 years. She earned her Masters of Science in Secondary School Counseling from Drake University and her Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her dog, Ollie, and cheering on the Iowa State Cyclones!

Ally is with BCCA thanks to a grant from Hennepin County. She works for Headway Emotional Health services and her role at BCCA and in other district High Schools is to help and support students overcome barriers that impede their attendance and progress at school. She provides support to students who are at risk due to a variety of factors and plays a vital role in keeping students in school at BCCA and in other high schools in the district who otherwise would struggle to attend regularly.
Ally attendedMetro State University and holds a BA in Psychology. She is currently attending the University of St Mary's and working on her MA in Counseling and Psychological Services. She enjoys traveling, attending concerts, and spending time with friends and family.Louise Hamer
Louise joined the BCCA team as program secretary in October 2015. She grew up in Scotland and holds a Bachelors degree from the University of Aberdeen (UK). She moved to Michigan in 2004 and earned her Master’s degree in Research Psychology at Eastern Michigan University.
After graduating, Louise moved to Minnesota and worked as a part-time administrative assistant at the U of M while raising her two daughters. In her free time she enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with family. She is excited to be supporting this program, which assists students in being prepared for their chosen college or career journey.
