#271Learns: Bloomington Learning Summit

The purpose of the Bloomington Learning Summit is to enhance the skills of BPS staff, drawing on the professional expertise of BPS employees as well as local and national experts to further develop knowledge and skills in the following areas:

  • standards-based curriculum, instruction, and assessment
  • culturally responsive teaching
  • social and emotional learning
  • student-centered teaching and learning

The institute also provides opportunities for staff to meet relicensure requirements.

Who Should Attend

  • Teachers and licensed staff (including special education and community education).
  • Paraprofessionals, bus drivers, health associates, OEE, etc.
  • Bloomington-based non-public teachers as space allows.

Bloomington Learning Summit offers...

  • Paid professional development (for Bloomington Public Schools employees).  BPS employees will be paid for up to two days of sessions or participation in one cohort; additional days will not be paid but teachers will still receive clock hours.
  • A local opportunity for relicensure hours.
  • Opportunities for teachers to enhance their skills.
  • Opportunities for staff to present and share their expertise.
  • A focus on the essential skills we want our teachers to have.
