Jefferson Theatre Company to stage ‘You Can’t Take It With You’

Jefferson Theatre Company will perform “You Can’t Take It With You” at 7 p.m. Oct. 5-7 and 3 p.m. Oct. 7-8 in the Jefferson High School auditorium, 4001 W. 102nd St.

The show features 30 students as cast and crew and is directed by Jerry Gomes, with set design by Robin McIntyre and costumes by Laurie Clements.

The classic comedy centers on sweet-natured Alice Sycamore, who falls for banker's son Tony Kirby. But when she invites her snooty prospective in-laws to dinner to give their blessing to the marriage, Alice's peculiar extended family - including a philosophical grandfather, a hapless fledgling ballerina sister and a fireworks enthusiast father - might be too eccentric for the staid Kirbys.

General admission tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors. Tickets can be purchased at the door or reserved online at

A special preview performance for seniors will be held at 4 p.m. Oct. 4. Tickets are $5.
