Jefferson Theatre Company to stage ‘Fahrenheit 451’

Jefferson Theatre Company will present its competitive one-act production “Fahrenheit 451” at 7 p.m. Feb. 8 in the Jefferson High School auditorium, 4001 W. 102nd St.

Based on the 1953 dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury, “Fahrenheit 451” is set in a future America where books are outlawed and “firemen” are charged with burning them. The play follows lead character Guy Montag, a fireman who becomes disillusioned with his role.   

The show features 20 Jefferson students as cast a crew, with direction by Laura and Gaby Schmit, set design by Robin McIntyre and costumes by Laurie Clements.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for students and seniors and can be purchased at or at the door one hour prior to the performance.   

A preview performance for seniors will be held at 3:30 p.m. Feb. 8. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door.
