Kennedy Theatre Company presents its spring production of "Shrek the Musical" at 7 p.m. on April 21-23, and 2 p.m. on April 24 in the Kennedy High School auditorium.

Based on the hit Dreamworks Animation film, “Shrek the Musical” follows the story of Shrek, a grumpy, green ogre living alone in his swamp until a group of homeless fairy tale characters invade his space after seeking refuge from persecution of Lord Farquaad.

Shrek and Lord Farquaad make a deal. If Shrek saves Princess Fiona for Farquaad to marry, he will send the characters back to where they came from. What will Shrek decide?

The show features 40 Kennedy High School students under the direction of Erika Sasseville with assistant direction from Amir Trotter, musical direction by Nikki Goulet Jordan, pit direction by John Engebretson, choreography and sound design by Josh Fremder, costume design by Laurie Clements, light design by Jonathan Engebretson, set design by Gaby Sasseville, and business manager Matt Dymoke.

Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students and can be purchased at kennedychoirs.org.

A senior preview performance of the production will start at 10 a.m., April 20. Tickets for this production are not available to purchase in advance.
