Jefferson Theatre Company presents ‘The Great Gatsby’

Jefferson Theatre Company presents “The Great Gatsby” one-act play Jan. 26-27 in the Jefferson High School auditorium, 4001 W. 102nd St. 

Jay Gatsby, a self-made millionaire, passionately pursues the elusive Daisy Buchanan. Nick Carraway, a young newcomer to Long Island, is drawn into their world of obsession, greed and danger. The breathtaking glamour and decadent excess of the Jazz Age come to the stage in F. Scott Fitzgerald’s classic novel and Simon Levy’s adaptation. 

The show features 17 students as cast and crew under the direction of Gaby Schmit, with sets and lighting design by Roger Skophammer and costumes by Laurie Clements. 

Showtimes are Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. and Jan. 27 at 3:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, and are available at showtix4u.com/event-details/70274 or at the door one hour prior to each performance.
