Jefferson, Kennedy high schools name Athena Award winners

Jefferson and Kennedy high schools have announced Megan Lee and Isabella Lone respectively as this year’s Athena Award winners.

The Athena Award is presented each year to outstanding senior female athletes from schools across the metro area. Award winners will be honored at the Minneapolis Athena Banquet on May 5.

Lee participates in cross country, track and field, nordic ski, and swim and dive. She is a two-time captain in cross country and track and field. Lee is a six-time MVP, five-time all-Conference honoree, lettered 12 times and holds the Section 3AAA course record for cross country. She plans to continue her running career at the University of Wisconsin - Madison.

Lone participates in soccer and is a three-time captain. She is a four-time MVP and all-Conference honoree, an all-Section team member, lettered five times and was a 2022 AA Ms. Soccer finalist. Lone plans to continue her soccer career at the University of Manitoba.
