Office of the Assistant Superintendent

Our mission in Bloomington Public schools is to empower and equip each learner to succeed in a rapidly changing world. It’s the center of all we do. We are committed to fostering learning experiences that are innovative, relevant, and engaging, where students have voice, choice, and opportunities to connect their learning to our world–ultimately making it a better place.

BPS is a community I’m proud to be part of. I’ve served as Assistant Superintendent since 2019 and have been fortunate to work in this incredible district for nearly 15 years in the roles of high school teacher, alternative learning program (ALP) teacher and curriculum and instruction specialist (TOSA).

We hold a deep belief in the power of community. Our vision calls us to create a united, inclusive environment where every learner feels a sense of belonging, where they are encouraged to dream, to explore, and to build a future that reflects their unique strengths and aspirations. We value learning for all, high expectations, safety, well-being, cultural diversity, and trusted relationships.

I am inspired daily by the dedication of our educators, families, and students to live out these values in meaningful ways. Thank you for your partnership, your trust, and your continued commitment to our shared goals.

Sincerely,
Dr. Jenna Mitchler, PhD
