Dear Oak Grove Elementary Eagles,
Welcome to the 2025-26 school year! You will receive updates from Oak Grove Elementary (OGE) and Bloomington Public Schools (BPS) throughout August to help your family prepare for the first day of school and beyond.
We are here to answer your questions. Please reach out to our office or Principal Cline. Thanks for being a part of the OGE community!
*** 1st Day of School For Elementary Students is Wednesday, September 3 ***
Welcome Back Video
Watch the 10-minute welcome back video for useful information about the 2025-26 school year. Check out the BPS Elementary Student Handbook.
Infinite Campus
This is the parent hub for student information. Families should access their Infinite Campus account and ensure all information is correct. Follow these instructions to learn how to check this.
BPS sends an email to all families with their login and password. If you are new, start at “Claim My Account."
For help, contact 952-681-6750 or techhelp@isd271.org.
Transportation and Teacher Information
BPS will share bus information and teacher placements via Infinite Campus on Aug. 14. Access from our school website by clicking on “BPS Login” at the top. If you need help, reach out to Principal Cline directly. Our robust classroom roster process doesn’t allow for teacher requests.
Assessment Conferences
Bring your child(ren) to OGE on Thursday, Aug. 28 or Friday, Aug. 29 for a 30-minute reading conference with their teacher. These allow teachers, parents and students to meet and provide teachers with information to start the school year. While your child is with their teacher, parents can drop off supplies and go to the gym for school information. Principal Cline will send a signup link once teacher info goes live on Aug. 14.
Supply lists
School supply lists are on our listed on our website. If you need any help with supplies, contact Principal Cline.
Learning LinkUp
Stop by Bloomington’s Learning LinkUp free community event on Saturday, Aug. 23 from 12-3 p.m. at the Valley View Elementary play fields (351 E. 88th St). There will be many school and community resources available, as well as games, food trucks, performances, and more.
School Communication
Principal Cline and our excellent PTA send a joint OGE update email on Fridays at 4 p.m. They are short and include everything you need to know about what’s happening at OGE. Please read!
School Day
Our school day is 9 a.m.-3:20 p.m. Buses drop off students between 8:40-8:50 a.m. and leave OGE at 3:25 p.m. We will text families if your student's bus leaves OGE 10+ minutes late.
Unless they are sick or it’s a family situation, your student needs to be at school on time. If your student will be out, you must contact our attendance office at 952-681-6802 or ogeattendance@isd271.org.
Car Riders
- All students eating breakfast at OGE should be dropped off between 8:40-8:50 a.m. Students who are not eating breakfast should be dropped off at 8:50 a.m.
- End of the day pick-up time for car riders is between 3:20-3:30 p.m.
- We will send separate details about our car drop-off and dismissal process.
Food Services
- All students may receive a free breakfast and/or lunch at OGE.
- Breakfast and lunch menus can be found online through the Menu icon at the top of our website.
- All families need to complete the Application for Educational Benefits form or opt out form. Students may qualify for benefits like reduced fees for transportation, athletic programs, academic or extracurricular activities. Applying for Educational Benefits helps OGE qualify for education funding, discounts and other meal programs that benefit all students so please complete the Application for Educational Benefits for the 2025-26 school year.
PTA
We have a great PTA that does so much to help our school community. Learn more on our PTA website. Consider joining and volunteering. We are OGE together!
PTA Meetings/School Events
The OGE calendar and PTA schedule of events will be released soon. Our weekly email provides more details and reminders about all our events.
For reference, the BPS school year calendar can be found on the district calendar webpage.
New Student Forms
We MUST have the following items before your child can start school:
- Birth Certificate: Your child’s original birth certificate (we will make a copy for you)
- Immunizations: Record of complete and up-to-date immunizations.
- Early Childhood Screening: For all kindergarten students, we need a copy of your child’s Early Childhood Screening from Pond Center or another city/district. If your child has not had the screening, please schedule one with Early Learning at Washburn by calling 952-681-5500.
If you have not already provided the above items, please upload these items to your student’s Personal Documents file in Infinite Campus. You may visit the school office & nurse’s office with the above required items at the time of their assessment.
