Positive School Culture
Oak Grove is a community working together to create a positive academic and social experience for all learners to SOAR. (Success, Optimism, Accountability, Respect). We provide a school culture that allows all stakeholders to feel safe, special and a sense of belonging. Every student receives equitable academic, social, emotional, and behavioral support that is culturally responsive, developmentally appropriate, evidence-based, and matched to student need through tiered layers of support.
Rich in Diversity
We are proud to be a Title I school with a highly diverse school community. We provide a stimulating, high-quality educational experience for our students rooted in relationships, high expectations, and support. We offer a positive social environment that includes PBIS, Zones of Regulation, and Responsive Classroom techniques. We have an experienced and dedicated staff that differentiates instruction for all core areas, working to ensure all students have a personalized learning plan. We are pleased to offer the SAILS and Gifted and Talented programs for designated students. These programs serve students with autism and highly gifted and talented. We have a 1:1 ratio of iPads or Chromebooks in grades 1-5 and utilize a technology integration specialist to support all our students and staff with enhancing their learning through the use of technology.
Strong School Community
Partnering with families and our community in a variety of ways is vital to the success of our student’s learning. We host monthly PTA meetings and events, Partners In Education Nights, and Family Maker Space Nights. Our community partnerships offer connections with Oak Grove Presbyterian Church for volunteers and our weekend food program, General Dynamics supports our VEAP Food Drive, and Donaldson Company supports our Junior Achievement program, that teaches our students about the economy and financial literacy. We invite you to join us in your child’s educational experience!
