Welcome to first grade in Room 115. I have been teaching first grade at Ridgeview since 2010, and I am looking forward to another exciting year of teaching. My goal is to help your child grow as a learner, love learning, make friends, be a good friend, and have a fun experience in first grade.
l completed my undergraduate work at Penn State, earning a B.S. degree in engineering. Shortly after that, I received certification in early childhood education at Anne Arundel College in Maryland. Then, I took some graduate courses in elementary education at Rowan College in New Jersey. Finally, in December 2008, I received my elementary license through Crown College in Minnesota. In June 2016, I received a Master’s degree in Differentiated Instruction at Concordia, St. Paul. I am passionate about learning, teaching, and continuing to improve as a teacher. I love learning and hope to instill a love of learning in your child.
My husband Dave and I live in Eden Prairie. We have five children and a dog named Coco. My youngest, Michael, is a junior at the University of Wisconsin. Luckily, my other four children live in the metro area so we see them often. In my free time, I love to take walks with my dog, read, watch movies, visit with friends, and spend time with my family.
I look forward to getting to know you and your first grader. Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions you may have. I believe communication strengthens teacher and family relations, which in turn, helps your child have a successful, positive, and rewarding school year. Let the learning begin!
