I grew up in Minneapolis and graduated from Roosevelt High School. After high school, I attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with a B.S. degree in Sociology/Educational Psychology/Youth Studies. I worked in Adolescent Mental Health for 6 years and then decided to take my experience into the classroom. I began a Master's in Education program at Augsburg College and earned a teaching license. I accepted my first teaching position in the WMEP district at FAIR schools where I taught for 1 year. I also worked in the MPS schools where I taught at Barton for 3 years, and then came to Bloomington Kennedy for 2 years before coming to Valley View Middle. I enjoy reading, traveling, and bIking in my freetime, as well as spending time with my son, my friends and my family. I am passionate about social justice, human rights, and taking care of the earth.
