District virtual engagement event: Elementary shift to traditional in-person learning
Bloomington Public Schools will host its fourth live virtual community engagement event to present plans for elementary and early learning students to return to a traditional learning model.
The Elementary Model Shift Community Engagement event is scheduled from 7-8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2021. The live virtual event will be carried on BEC-TV, and available for streaming on Roku, Apple TV, or the BEC-TV website. Details at bectv.org.
District leaders will present updates on the data and safety precautions guiding the shift on Jan. 19 to traditional learning for students in our early childhood programs, preschool and elementary grades K-5. Secondary principals will also provide an update on shifting from the current distance learning to hybrid model when COVID case counts allow.
Viewers will have a chance to submit questions prior to and during the event.
“We are eager to have our youngest learners back in school as recommended by Governor Walz,” said Superintendent Les Fujitake. “We will continue to prioritize the safety of our students and staff by adhering to state and public health guidance and closely following the Minnesota Department of Education recommendations.”
