Liz Lodermeier will become the new Principal of Indian Mounds Elementary School, effective July 1. Lodermeier is replacing Jeremy Kuhns, who submitted his resignation effective at the end of the current school year.

Lodermeier has been the dean of students at Valley View Elementary School for the past four years, and was dean of students for Bloomington Public Schools’ summer school programs in 2020 and 2021, where her team developed and implemented a distance learning program in 2020.

Prior to moving over to Valley View Elementary, Lodermeier taught for 11 years at Indian Mounds, and served as the school’s instructional lead and administrator for its Area Learning Center. She began her career in Bloomington Public Schools as an activity assistant for the Kids’ SAFARI program from 2005-07.

Lodermeier is a 2004 graduate of Bloomington Jefferson High School, and also student taught at Indian Mounds in 2008.

Lodermeier holds undergraduate and graduate degrees in education from the University of Minnesota, and an educational specialist degree and K-12 administrative license from Hamline University.

“We are excited for Elizabeth and the Indian Mounds community. She is focused on strong relationships, is child-centered, understands the power of connection, and brings a familiarity to the school, all wonderful traits that will serve Indian Mounds students, staff and families,” said Dr. Jenna Mitchler, assistant superintendent.
