Kennedy Theatre Company presents ‘Newsies’

Kennedy Theatre Company kicks off its 2023-24 season with a fall musical, ‘Newsies’ Oct. 26-29 at Kennedy High School, 9701 Nicollet Ave. South.

Newsies is a Broadway musical inspired by the real-life Newsboys Strike of 1899 in New York City. Jack Kelly leads a band of teenage “newsies” against two publishing titans that raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, giving Jack a cause to fight for.

The production features a cast and crew of 50 students and is directed by Tanya Laumann and Nikki Jordan.

Showtimes:

• Oct. 26-28 at 7 p.m.
• Oct. 29  at 2 p.m.
