Bloomington students earn awards at Metro West art exhibition

Jefferson and Kennedy high school students earned seven awards during the Metro West conference visual arts exhibition. The show hosted by Normandale Community College consisted of art work by students across the conference with 16 awards presented.

Kennedy’s Yadira Landa received the highest honor, winning the Normandale Award of Excellence for her acrylic painting, Culture Personified.

Kennedy students Jackson Buch, Julia Ohm, Amy Sosa-Robles and Ashley Hallet received the Award of Achievement and Talayah Stackhouse received the Award of Excellence.

Jefferson’s Grace Phan received the Merit award for her portrait which personified forms of playful manipulation.
