Dr. Eric Melbye named 2024 Champion for Communications

Bloomington Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Eric Melbye won the 2024 Champion for Communications award from the Minnesota School Public Relations Association (MinnSPRA). The award recognizes an educational leader for outstanding support for school public relations and communications, and highlights the importance of that leader’s role in implementing an effective communications program.

As superintendent, Dr. Melbye combines visionary and engaging leadership skills with a deep commitment to prioritizing timely, transparent and effective communications to build trust and confidence among all stakeholder groups.

In three years as superintendent, Dr. Melbye has demonstrated strong support for strategic communications and marketing plans. He helped launch the Melbye Monthly video series and the Chalk Talk e-newsletter to inform and engage community stakeholders.

Dr. Melbye received the award at the MinnSPRA Spring Conference earlier this month.
