Meet the Principal

On behalf of the entire staff at Normandale Hills Elementary School, I want to welcome you to our school! Whether you’re a returning family, or new to our community, we are incredibly excited to work collaboratively throughout the year to maximize the academic, behavioral, and social/emotional development of our students.  

I am honored to be selected as Normandale Hills’ next principal. Over the last eighteen years, I have served Bloomington Public Schools and Normandale Hills in a variety of roles. I am lucky to follow a long legacy of leaders rooted in academic excellence, a supportive community, and strong engagement of our families.

As our mission statement says,  we foster a positive school culture with enriched learning connections, innovative teaching, and active community involvement to enhance our commitment to excellence. Bloomington Public Schools’ strategic planning work demonstrates this commitment to excellence by identifying the knowledge, skills, and qualities that a student needs to thrive in our rapidly changing world. These qualities include being a creative and critical thinker, a collaborator, showing empathy and perseverance, and being accountable. This is already evident at Normandale Hills as we expect and encourage our students to “Be a Knight and do things right” by showing respect, responsibility, and being safe every day.
