Meet the Principal
Welcome, White Tiger Families!
As a parent myself, I understand how deeply you care about giving your child the best possible foundation. You want them to grow in a learning environment that supports both academic success and social-emotional development. Early in my career, I learned a simple but powerful truth: for students to thrive, they must first feel safe and a strong sense of belonging. When children feel secure, they’re more confident taking risks, trying new things, and engaging in learning—even when it’s challenging.
At Olson, we are committed to creating that kind of environment. I pledge to treat every Olson student as if they were my own.
Olson Elementary is proud to be one of nine K–5 schools in the Bloomington Public Schools district. Our dedicated staff engage in ongoing professional development and use research-based curriculum and instructional practices to support all learners. As our mission states, our goal is to “Empower and equip each learner to succeed in a rapidly changing world.” We encourage students to “Dream, Believe, and Achieve,” and we meet each child where they are—celebrating their strengths while supporting their growth. Our aim is to help every student become a confident, capable, lifelong learner.
Our school community thrives because of strong partnerships with families. We deeply value parent and caregiver involvement and offer many opportunities for you to engage in and contribute to the Olson experience.
If you're new to the area or exploring the best fit for your child’s education, we warmly invite you to visit. Come experience firsthand the caring, engaging, and dynamic environment that makes Olson a wonderful place to learn and grow.
Warmly,
Principal Paul Meyer
