The focus of the Bloomington Kennedy Activities Foundation (BKAF) is to fund and support any and all activities/athletics at Kennedy High School. We are here to financially assist any student, coach, booster club, teacher, and family regardless of their financial status. Think of us as a hand up, not a handout.
Please consider joining the JFK PTSA. We need to grow our membership! This is your opportunity to be connected with your student's school.
There are 4 PTSA meetings/learning sessions scheduled for the 2019-20 school year:
- 10/15 Technology in the School
- 1/28 The Dangers of Vaping
- 3/10 Identifying Depression & Anxiety in Teens
- 5/12 Internet Safety
The PTSA supports teachers, financially supports the Evening of Excellence and funds Scholarships for graduating Seniors. Please consider completing the attached form and return to Melissa Riebel
When you join JFK’s PTSA, you become a member of the nation’s largest and oldest child advocacy organization, boasting a membership of more than 5 million. Did you know President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt was one of the first dad’s to join?
Some of National PTA’s accomplishments include:
- Mandating Child Immunizations
- Universal Kindergarten
- Early Endorsement of Juvenile Courts
- Spearheading Federal free and reduced lunch legislation
- Working for and enacting child labor laws
- And more!!!
At JFK our PTSA welcomes EVERYONE, including grandparents, mentors, educators, neighbors, and community leaders. Each year National PTA and Minnesota PTA publish separate public policy priorities and recommendations for Congress. Elected officials including U.S. Presidents frequently ask PTAs opinion on critical issues that impact children and families, thanks in part to the foresight of President Roosevelt.
Please commit to becoming part of the rich legacy of PTA and partner with JFK in our mission to improve the lives of our students and families. JFK students need you more now than ever!!! Membership dues are $10.00 per school year. We accept membership year-round.

Volunteer Connection programs offer opportunities for tutors to assist students with learning in an academic setting. We are always looking for volunteers who are enthusiastic and excited to help students achieve academic potential; willing to commit 1-2 hours a week for a school semester or 6-month period; and willing to share skills and expertise.
