Olympic Medalist Speaks to Bloomington Nordic Ski Team

The Bloomington Nordic Ski Team launched its cross-country ski season with a special event featuring Olympic medalist and Minnesota native Jessie Diggins. The event was held on Nov. 8 at Jefferson High School with Diggins joining virtually via Zoom from her home in Afton, Minnesota.

Team members and parents were able to interact with Diggins and ask questions to gain insight and advice from her experiences. The Q&A session is available on YouTube

Diggins was invited to participate in the event by Thomas Pearce, a colleague of her head coach Matt Whitcomb as well as a National Nordic Foundation board member and parent of a skier on the Bloomington Nordic Ski Team.

A three-time Olympic medalist, Diggins is one of the most accomplished cross-country skiers in the world. Highlights of her upcoming season include participating in the World Cup in Minneapolis and her first American Birkebeiner in Wisconsin, both in February 2024.
