Jefferson Theatre Company presents ‘The Women of Troy’

Jefferson Theatre Company presents ‘The Women of Troy’ one-act play Feb. 1-2 in the Jefferson High School auditorium, 4001 W. 102nd Street.

Women of Troy is based on a familiar story with Helen, who had a face that launched 1000 ships and the Trojan Horse. A story made famous by Euripides in The Trojan Women (415 BC) , we see the impact of the devastation of war on the women who have lost their loved ones, their city and their freedom. Using a traditional Greek chorus, the women mourn their losses and fear what is to become of them. This moving story still resonates today.

The show features a cast and crew of 21 students under the direction of Gaby Schmit, with set design by Joe Coldwell and costumes by Laurie Clements.

Showtimes are Feb. 1 at 7 p.m. and Feb. 2 at 3:30 and 7 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students, and are available online at bit.ly/jtc-troy-tickets or at the door one hour prior to each performance.
